WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that allows users to share status updates from companion devices. Last year, the companion mode was introduced to allow users to access their WhatsApp account on multiple mobile devices without requiring an active Internet connection on the main device.
But this prominent feature bounds users to post status updates from companion devices, which disappointed many users who frequently share updates on their WhatsApp status. However, WhatsApp has now examined the importance of sharing status and rolled out a new feature.
With this new feature, users can now share images, videos, GIFs, text, and voice messages through status updates, providing them with a significant step forward in the way they communicate with their contacts from a companion device.
Notably, this new feature is rolled out with version 2.24.1.4 and is currently available for some beta testers and will be rolled out to public users with future updates.
