This contest between Apple and Samsung is a permanent tango for overall smartphone supremacy. Of course brand loyalty matters, however, it is the release schedule that usually determines the top spot on the board.
After the iPhone 15 hit the world stage in September 2023, Apple enjoyed a momentary run of success, leading the world. He continued winning battles even in distant countries like Europe. On the other hand, The Korea Times reports that they made a backspin in February 2024. After being chased by Apple upon the Galaxy S23 release last month, Samsung is ahead of Apple with a strong 20% share at 18%. Reclaimed the top spot for the month. As a result, Samsung sold 19.69 million units, while Apple still sold 17.41 million units, not forgetting that Samsung played on the price factor.
Of course, it must be remembered that the dominance of point-masses is only short-lived. Unlike Apple, Samsung has always been notorious for its wider and more frequent model selection. Samsung had achieved such superiority and market leadership despite similar model selection, making this crown more important for Apple in 2023. This is another matter of concern: the world market is declining and its sales have declined, especially in China. Apple, the champion in Japan at that time (April 2024), is also being affected by such a shrinking market.
The smartphone wars are just another front where brands fight to gain a better foothold, but they can’t move forward without interesting products ending up on store shelves. Obviously, both the IT giants will continue their innovations and prepare to launch new models in the market to make this competition as interesting as ever.
