Famous South Korean technology giant Samsung celebrated World Water Day on March 22 and united its 44,000-strong employees around the world to participate in a series of impressive water conservation games. This year’s commemoration brought together not only Samsung employees but also local governments, non-governmental companies (NGOs) and citizens from 22 workplaces globally.
For more than a decade, Samsung has been a leader in environmental stewardship, leading various projects involving each of its employees and neighborhood groups in protecting water resources. These actions range from river cleanups at workplaces to extensive water conservation campaigns, underscoring the organization’s unwavering commitment to sustainability.
Junhwa Lee, Vice President, of Global EHS, Device Experience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the importance of World Water Day, saying, “On World Water Day, Samsung Electronics executives and employees take time to reflect on the importance of smooth water. Through participating in water conservation activities. We should always strive to ensure that future generations have easy access to water.”
Samsung’s dedication to environmental duty extends far past mere rhetoric, as evidenced using its energetic participation in concrete conservation efforts.
