Samsung, a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing, has reportedly pulled back the curtain on its groundbreaking 1.4nm process technology for the first time.
This announcement has created significant buzz in the tech industry and among semiconductor enthusiasts, as it represents a remarkable leap in chip manufacturing technology.
As per the details, the upcoming SF1.4 (1.4nm-class) process technology will increase the number of nanosheets from three to four, to uplift the performance and power consumption. Because, the increasing number of nanosheets per transistor can enhance the driving current, improving performance.
More nanosheets allow for more current to flow through the transistor, enhancing its switching capabilities and operational speed. It may also be expected that the biggest overhaul of Samsung production nodes after the introduction of GAA-based SF3E will happen in 2027.
