Key Points:
- Samsung officially confirms the name of its upcoming premium smartwatch: Galaxy Watch Ultra.
- The watch will likely launch alongside other new products at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in July.
- The Galaxy Watch Ultra is expected to be a high-end competitor to Apple’s Ultra watches.
Samsung recently confirmed, though unintentionally, the name of its highly anticipated premium smartwatch – the Galaxy Watch Ultra. This information surfaced through now-removed support pages for the unreleased wearable on Samsung’s website. The company is expected to unveil the watch alongside its latest foldable phones and other products at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July.
Previously, rumors swirled around the watch’s official title, with some suggesting “Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra” while our exclusive report in April revealed the marketing name to be “Galaxy Watch Ultra.” This confusion was put to rest last month with a TDRA certification from the UAE government. The certification confirmed the new watch’s model number (SM-L705F), matching our earlier report, and crucially, listed the marketing name as “Galaxy Watch Ultra.”
Now, with the appearance of official support pages, we have even stronger confirmation from Samsung itself. As reported by 91Mobiles, these pages briefly appeared on Samsung’s websites in various regions, including Canada, Austria, and Latin America. Some listings even explicitly mentioned the product name alongside the model number. While Samsung swiftly deleted these pages, screenshots were captured before they vanished.
Interestingly, the deleted listings also revealed that the Galaxy Watch Ultra will likely come in a single size – 47mm. This further emphasizes the premium and potentially feature-rich nature of the watch. It’s worth noting that Samsung previously published, and subsequently deleted, support pages for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, also revealing their marketing names. Even pages without product names were removed, which is an unusual move for Samsung. These developments, however, strongly suggest an imminent launch of these new products. Samsung might even republish the deleted support pages soon.
Continuing the trend of pre-event leaks that plague Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked events, rumors have already pinpointed July 10th as the launch date for the next Unpacked event, taking place in Paris, France. Alongside the new watches and foldables, we can expect the introduction of new wireless earbuds and an official launch of the Galaxy Ring. Stay tuned for the official invitation from Samsung for the upcoming Unpacked event.
