Samsung has commenced the rollout of the May 2024 security updates across a range of its devices. This comprehensive update enhances device performance and security for users in various regions.
In Canada, the Galaxy Tab S9 series—including the Galaxy Tab S9, S9 Plus, and S9 Ultra—has begun receiving the update, bringing One UI build versions X710XXS3BXE1, X810XXS3BXE1, and X910XXS3BXE1, respectively. This 331.36MB update improves device performance and addresses 45 vulnerabilities, enhancing protection against threats.
Simultaneously, the international variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 (model SM-F926B) and Galaxy Z Flip 3 (model SM-F711B) are also receiving the May 2024 security patch. This update, live in Europe and North America, fixes 45 security issues with firmware versions F926BXXS7HXE1 and F711BXXS8HXE2.
The Galaxy A53 and A54 are not left out. The A53’s update, now available in Europe and parts of Asia, carries firmware version A536BXXSAEXE1. The A54 receives its update in regions including Kazakhstan and Vietnam, with firmware version A546EXXS8CXE2, focusing solely on security improvements.
In the USA, the Galaxy S21 FE sees the May 2024 update for both carrier-locked and unlocked variants, with firmware versions G990USQSBGXE1 and G990U1UESBGXE1. Similarly, the Galaxy S22 series, specifically factory-unlocked models, are getting the update with firmware version S90xU1UES5EXE2.
To update, users can navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install, or manually update using Odin after downloading the firmware from Samsung’s database.
