Today, on January 17, 2023, Samsung Electronics officially unveiled its latest ISOCELL HP2 the 200-megapixel image sensor with improved pixel technology to provide upcoming flagship smartphone users with a more prominent photography experience.

ISOCELL HP2 includes 200 million 0.6-micrometer (μm) pixels in a 1/1.3″ optical format, which is a common size for 108MP main smartphone cameras. It delivers the latest high-end smartphone users higher resolution pictures without a bigger camera bump.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is going to be the first flagship device to euip this latest 200MP ISOCELL HP2 camera sensor which will deliver an unimaginable camera experience for users with its Tetra2 advanced pixel-binning technology.
Moving on, the latest ISOCELL HP2 enumerates more versatility to the Galaxy S23 Ultra camera as it simulates different pixel sizes to accommodate varying lighting levels. Samsung is also introducing the DSG feature for the first time in 50MP mode to provide better HDR performance.
The latest camera sensor transforms either into a 1.2μm 50MP or 2.4μm 12.5MP image sensor by binding four to 16 neighboring pixels. For fuller 8K video it switches to 1.2μm 50MP mode and recording 8K at 30 frames-per-second (fps) includes a wide field of view which produces sharp cinematic videos.
Samsung also offers super QPD for better autofocusing, it allows the sensor to use all its 200 million pixels for focusing agents. It recognizes both horizontal and vertical pattern changes that deliver faster and more accurate auto-focusing by utilizing the rich pattern data along with the sheer number of reference points.
