Samsung has unveiled exciting new AI capabilities for its smart home appliances, including the ability to create AI-generated wallpapers on select refrigerators and an upgrade to its Bixby voice assistant. These updates reflect Samsung’s commitment to enhancing user experiences through innovative technology.
Starting August 27th, Samsung will roll out an enhanced version of Bixby on five Bespoke appliances. This upgrade will enable Bixby to comprehend more complex commands, retain information from previous interactions, and assist with troubleshooting. For instance, you could ask your washing machine to finish laundry an hour before dinner, or inquire about error codes on your refrigerator, and Bixby will provide relevant assistance.
The AI-generated wallpaper feature is specifically designed for Samsung Family Hub refrigerators released in the US and Korea after 2022. Users can choose a theme from seven categories and select one of six art styles to generate personalized wallpapers. These wallpapers can be displayed on the fridge’s cover screen or whiteboard, or saved for future use. The feature requires a Wi-Fi connection, and users can create up to five wallpapers per day.
The Bixby upgrade will initially be available on certain 2024 Samsung appliances, including the Bespoke 4-Door Refrigerator with AI Family Hub, the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, and the AI WindFree Gallery Freestanding Air Conditioner. These advancements underscore Samsung’s ongoing efforts to integrate AI into everyday household tasks, making home management more intuitive and efficient.
