In a nutshell:

  • Samsung’s upcoming foldable phone, Galaxy Z Flip6, and two smartwatch models (Galaxy Watch7 and Watch Ultra) have been certified by Thailand’s NBTC.
  • The Galaxy Watch Ultra marks the first time Samsung uses “Ultra” branding for its smartwatches.
  • Leaks suggest the Watch Ultra will boast high-end specs and a unique design.

Samsung is gearing up for a busy launch next month, as evidenced by recent certifications for their latest devices. Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has given the green light to the Galaxy Z Flip6 foldable phone and two upcoming smartwatch models – the Galaxy Watch7 and the all-new Galaxy Watch Ultra.

The NBTC listing confirms the Galaxy Z Flip6 (model number SM-F741B) will support 5G connectivity. It will also likely feature standard functionalities like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC, with rumors suggesting it might lack Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology. Unofficial sources hint at a possible price increase compared to the previous Z Flip model.

The smartwatch certifications reveal both LTE-enabled versions of the Galaxy Watch7 (40mm: SM-L305F, 44mm: SM-L315F) and the intriguing Galaxy Watch Ultra (SM-L705F). Interestingly, the Watch Ultra ditches the numbering scheme used in previous models, sparking curiosity about future naming conventions (“Watch2 Ultra” or “Watch Ultra 2”). The model numbers for the watches also see a shift from “R” (used in Watch6) to “L”. While the reason behind this change remains unclear, it likely holds minimal practical significance.

The NBTC certification for the Z Flip6 further confirms 25W fast charging capabilities. Additionally, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is expected to boast a unique design, featuring a rounded square titanium case and a circular display. Leaks suggest it might pack a punch with high-end features like an Exynos W1000 processor, 32GB storage, and a super bright 3,000-nit display protected by Sapphire Crystal.

Durability is also a focus, with rumors pointing towards 10ATM water resistance, an IP68 rating, and compliance with the MIL-STD-810H US military standard. With a large 590mAh battery and advanced health and fitness tracking capabilities powered by Galaxy AI, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is shaping up to be a serious contender in the smartwatch market.
