First Update for Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6, launched in early July, are now receiving their first significant software updates. These updates bring the devices up to the August security patch, which is the latest available. Specifically, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is updated to firmware version F741BXXU1AXH7 with a download size of around 580MB. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 receives a similar update, with firmware version F956BXXU1AXH7 and a file size of just under 573MB.
These updates focus on enhancing the devices’ overall stability and reliability, addressing any initial issues users might have encountered. While the changes might seem minor, they are essential for ensuring smooth performance as Samsung continues to support these devices with future updates.
No Seamless Updates Yet
One notable detail is the absence of seamless updates, a feature that allows users to install software updates in the background without interrupting their use of the device. This feature is available on some Samsung models, like the Galaxy A55, but hasn’t been extended to the Z Flip 6 or Z Fold 6. While this isn’t a significant drawback, it’s a feature that many had hoped to see in Samsung’s latest high-end devices.
Galaxy S24 FE: One UI 6.1 and Camera Assistant
In addition to the updates for the Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6, Samsung has also confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy S24 FE will feature One UI 6.1 and include support for the Camera Assistant. This module, part of Samsung’s Good Lock suite, allows users to fine-tune their camera settings, offering options like 2x zoom, faster shutter speeds, and more.
The Galaxy S24 FE is expected to come with a powerful camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front camera is rumored to be 10 megapixels. Alongside these camera enhancements, the S24 FE is also expected to feature a large display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a battery capacity of 4,565mAh.
Availability
The first update for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 is now available in Europe, including the Netherlands and Belgium. Users can download it directly through the device’s settings under “Software update” or wait for the automatic notification.
With these updates, Samsung continues to enhance its latest devices, ensuring they stay secure, reliable, and packed with the latest features. The inclusion of Camera Assistant in the S24 FE also indicates Samsung’s commitment to bringing flagship-level features to more affordable models.
