Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 2x Portrait Camera: Are you happy now?

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 2x Portrait Camera: Are you happy now?

On the 16th, Samsung started to distribute the June firmware update to the Galaxy S23 series in select markets. Since the firmware rollout is underway, I just want to ask Galaxy S23 Ultra users about their experience with the 2x Portrait mode that came with June 2023 update.

In particular, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is equipped with a feature-packed 200-megapixel ISOCELL image sensor. This sensor can be used in different resolutions including 200MP, 50MP, and even 12.5MP as part of delivering crispy pictures full of details.

Since launch, the device had two Portrait mode options including a 1x and 3x, lacking the 2x cropping available on various devices. Seeing consumers’ demand, the company made changes in the code and algorithm, applying the new 2x Portrait mode solution to the Galaxy S23 Ultra camera software.

With June 2023 firmware update, Samsung included the new 2x Portrait mode for the Galaxy S23 Ultra camera. This solution uses the 200-megapixel image sensor at 50-megapixel cropping, thanks to the intelligent Pixel Binning technology.

This new feature aims to ensure accurately blurred Portrait shots using the high-resolution camera of the device. Using it, you will be able to shoot stunning pictures with pleasing depth effects, delivering a DSLR touch to your phone’s photography skills.

Are you happy with the new 2x Portrait mode? Let us know via the Twitter poll below:
