Amid the sluggish semiconductor market, Samsung Electronics invested more than 29 trillion won in semiconductor facilities in the first three quarters of this year.

According to a quarterly report released on Nov. 14, the company executed 32,963.2 billion won in facility investments between January and September 2022. Overall, 29,102.1 trillion won (88%) was invested in semiconductor facilities.
Moreover, Samsung’s facility investment in the same period last year reached 33,492.6 billion won, of which 89.5% or 29.99 trillion won was invested in semiconductor facilities.
Meanwhile, Samsung’s DRAM sales fell 33.7 percent to $7.371 billion in the third quarter from $11.121 billion in the second quarter, according to market research firms Eugene Investment & Securities and IDC.
