Samsung April 2022 security update arrived for Galaxy Z Fold 3, Flip 3 in the US

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 device owners have received the latest Android security patch as of April 2022. It has now been released in the US for the unlocked model, while users in other regions are expected to receive it soon.

This update improves the security and safety of your physical device, as well as protects it from bugs and viruses. On the other hand, the April 2022 Samsung Security Patch Update fixed 88 privacy vulnerabilities by Google and Samsung, including 27 high-level vulnerabilities and 18 mid-range CVEs.

These vulnerabilities are released to improper access controls in S Secure, Samsung Contacts app, Knox Manage, Storage Manager, Storage Manager Service, One UI Home, Samsung DeX Home, and more. Additionally, it includes the ‘Dirty Pipe’ vulnerability that can leave the door open for hackers on devices running Android 12 and a newer kernel version (5.8 or higher).

Aside from these, the official changelog for the update doesn’t mention any new features or major changes. You might notice some minor changes and improvements after you install the latest security patch update on your device.
