Samsung is releasing the latest One UI 4.1 update for many Galaxy devices. While the new 4.1 variant seems to be able to reach all the necessary Galaxy smartphones and tablets, some features are only available for select models. Well, recent Galaxy flagships like the S21 series can take advantage of the new Add portrait effect feature.
According to Samsung, Galaxy users can now add blurred images to any image with the viewer. This means that if you take a photo or selfie without Portrait mode, you can still add background blur effects with the new One UI 4.1.
Introduced with the Galaxy S22 series, the new One UI 4.1 feature allows users to add a portrait effect to their photos available in the Samsung Gallery. However, it is worth noting that the device only works on images with at least one person.
Here’s how to use the “Add portrait effect”
After upgrading your Samsung smartphone to the One UI 4.1, you can find the new Add portrait effect tool just beside the Remaster picture feature in the Gallery app. To use it, you just need to open a picture having a person, then tap on three dots to expand the menu.
Here, you should get the Add portrait effect, simply tap on it. That’s it, now the AI will manage the rest of the work and show you the result in just a few seconds. Besides, you can customize the background blue level with the adjustment tool and simply tap apply to save a copy.
Have you tried blurring the background of a picture from your Samsung Gallery? Should Samsung further improve this feature with the expected One UI 4.1.1 or Android 13-based One UI 5 update? Feel free to share your thoughts with us through the comments below.
