Key Points:

  1. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Assurance offers discounted screen replacements for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6.
  2. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 ranks highest among foldables for camera performance, according to DxOMark.
  3. The assurance program must be used within two years of purchase for a one-time screen replacement.

Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 come with a special program called ‘Galaxy Z Assurance’ to help users with potential screen issues. This is different from Samsung Care+ insurance. The Galaxy Z Assurance program offers a one-time discounted screen replacement, but it’s only available in the US.

The program promises that these foldable phones are “Built to withstand” and have been tested to handle at least 200,000 folds, which equates to about ten years of use if folded 55 times daily.

Discounted Screen Replacement

With Galaxy Z Assurance, you can replace the screen of your Galaxy Z Fold 6 or Flip 6 for just $200 once, if needed. Without this program, replacing the screen would cost $549 for the Fold 6 and $319 for the Flip 6. However, this discounted replacement must be claimed within two years from the date of purchase. After that, regular replacement costs apply.

Top Camera Performance

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 has been recognized by DxOMark, an independent review site, as having the best camera among foldable phones. It even outperforms the Pixel Fold in zoom capabilities, despite Google’s foldable having a theoretically superior telephoto camera. The Fold 6 scores 133 points in camera performance, placing it at the top among foldables and 45th overall globally. Its zoom capabilities earned 135 points, significantly higher than the Pixel Fold’s 117 points.

Camera Highlights and Criticisms

DxOMark praised the Galaxy Z Fold 6 for its wide dynamic range, good exposure, low noise in bright environments, and effective video stabilization. However, the camera isn’t perfect. There are some issues with autofocus in low light, noise in ultra-wide shots, and underexposed night shots without flash.
