Samsung is now expanding the August 2024 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 to more European countries. Initially available in the US for carrier-locked devices, this update is now making its way across Europe.
Update Details: The update, identified by firmware version F936BXXS8FXG3, includes the August 2024 security patch. This patch addresses almost 50 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software. However, it does not introduce any new features or performance enhancements.
The upcoming One UI 6.1.1 update, expected next month, will add new features. You can preview some of these features in our video below.
How to Update: European Galaxy Z Fold 4 users can check for this update by going to Settings » Software update and selecting Download and install. Alternatively, you can manually download the firmware file from our database and flash it using the Odin tool. Remember to back up your data before starting the manual process.
Future Updates: Launched in 2022 with Android 12, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 received Android 13 in late 2022 and Android 14 in late 2023. The device is set to receive the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update by the end of this year, which will feature a major redesign, new app icons, a new Quick Panel layout, rounded notifications, and enhanced animations. It will also introduce new Galaxy AI features.
Looking ahead, the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update is expected to be the final major update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and is likely to be released by the end of next year.
