Check these Samsung One UI 5.0/Android 13 revamped icons

Samsung One UI 5.0 Icons

Samsung introduced the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 version on the beta channel earlier this month, while the Galaxy S22 series rolled out the second beta two days ago. While the first One UI 5.0 beta did not see any change in the icons, the second beta brought a lot of changes in the segment.

A handful of stock One UI apps received design changes as well as revamped icons painted in gradients from solid colors. We noticed changes to various stock app icons including Camera, Gallery, My Files, Phone, Messages, Settings, Calendar, and Calculator.

Samsung Camera

Compared to One UI 4.1, the design of the Samsung Camera app icon is the same as that of One UI 5.0 beta, while it has got an elegant gradient color of solid red.

Samsung Gallery

The Samsung Gallery app has undergone major design changes with the One UI 5.0 version. Whereas in One UI 4.1 the foliage and background colors were white and red respectively, those have now been swapped in the other One UI 5.0.

My Files

Similar to the changes implemented in the Gallery app, One UI 5.0 beta also changed the elements and background colors of the My Files app. One UI 4.1’s My Files app has a light orange background with a white file icon, while One UI 5.1’s My Files is just the opposite.

Samsung Phone

Compared to the Samsung phone app icons we had in One UI 4.1, the icons in the new One UI 5.0 look pretty with a new green shade in the gradient color fill.

Samsung Messages

In addition to the gradient color, the chat bubble in the Samsung Messages app has rounded corners, which is new from the rectangular bubble in the Messages app in One UI 4.1.

Settings

System Settings is one of the most used functions of any smartphone. For the icons of this app in One UI 5.0, Samsung applied a dark gray color with the same gear shape and design as One UI 4.1.

Calendar

There’s another small element inside One UI 4.1’s Calendar app icon, which shows the latest date as per the phone’s settings. It underwent major changes with One UI 5.0, as Samsung dropped that extra element as part of increasing the size of the date font.

Calculator

Apart from applying gradient colors, there are no other changes to the calculator app icon in One UI 5.0 and One UI 4.1.

What do you think about these new icons, should Samsung revamp the rest of the stock app icons as well? Don’t forget to share your thoughts with us via social media.
