Samsung scrambles to fix Galaxy S24 camera issues with June firmware update

The leak for Samsung’s flagship phones, the Galaxy S24 series, which usually gets early upgrades regarding camera features, comes with a significant drawback. APRIL has made some improvements, however, the camera firmware update that was supposed to come for the S24 was initially planned for release in May 2024 and was delayed to June 2024. This misfortune creates uncertainty at this point as to whether the S24 will solve long-term camera issues in Samsung’s mind.

However, that change didn’t come without technical problems: While the April update, which included 480×480 slow-motion video and improved zoom clarity, brought new features to the phone, user reports indicated that autofocus was slow, and the quality of Photos was even worse especially blurry and blurry photos. Nevertheless, these problems persist throughout the lifetime of the phone, even if it is priced premium and has been in the market for months.

This severe time lag of camera-specific updates in the firmware isolates the user from the fierce competition existing in the high-end smartphone markets. The presence of brands like Honor, Huawei, and Xiaomi has flooded the market with early products like the H30 and G 25 Ultra that stand out as solid alternatives to the S24.

Some experts believe that there may be some issues related to the use of quadruple sensors in the S24, especially the overestimation of the power of the 200MP main sensor which is attracting a lot of attention. This sensor has huge potential, yet it sometimes fails to meet the desirable requirements, i.e. it affects the image focusing and processing capability.

With the July update possibly being delayed by a month, expectations are high as this is a major potential fix for the poor build quality. This delay seems to be a symptom of the greater complexities Samsung is dealing with. With the social situation set to develop in June and several others already on the market, potential S24 buyers may consider themselves smarter if they wait for an update, or they may question whether the competition would be a better choice.
