Here’s what you need to know:

  • Earbud-inspired charging: Ditch the cables! Samsung Galaxy Ring will utilize a compact charging case akin to those used for wireless earbuds.
  • Simple and Secure: A raised section within the case, aligned with the ring’s charging pins, ensures proper placement and secure charging.
  • Travel-friendly Convenience: The case doubles as a storage solution, keeping your Galaxy Ring safe and protected while on the go.

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Ring, showcased earlier at MWC 2024, is nearing its launch next month. A recent leak sheds light on its charging method, and it’s a familiar sight – a charging case resembling those used for wireless earbuds.

Before this reveal, speculation swirled around the Galaxy Ring’s charging solution. Options like magnetic cables or other attachments were in the mix. However, it appears Samsung has settled on a dedicated charging case for its innovative wearable.

The leak, courtesy of Ice Universe on Weibo, showcases a small, white plastic case. The case proudly displays the Samsung logo on its front and features a raised section in the center specifically designed to hold the Galaxy Ring securely. This section aligns perfectly with the ring’s charging pins, as revealed during the initial Galaxy Ring presentation.

For user convenience, aligning lines are etched on both the case and the ring itself. This subtle design element ensures users know precisely when the ring is properly positioned for charging.

It’s worth noting that this approach aligns with RingConn’s method of utilizing a charging case for their smart ring. While Oura employs a charging dock with similar functionality to Samsung’s, the case offers a distinct advantage for travel – it keeps your ring protected while on the move.

Ideally, the case would also incorporate a built-in battery, mirroring the functionality of earbud cases and enabling on-the-go charging. However, with Samsung boasting a remarkable battery life of up to nine days for the Galaxy Ring, the charging case might not be a frequent necessity.

The official launch of the Galaxy Ring is expected to occur on July 10th alongside other exciting Samsung releases, including new foldable phones and smartwatches.
