Samsung has changed its business design in the foldable phone industry. In replacement of Hingelide, its Chinese counter company Havanli will be used to supply hinge mechanism components for the next products of Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 series. From this incident, it is clear that in the recent period, there is a completely different picture which you can see when one realizes how KH Vetec was almost a virtual monopoly with the supply of a specific type of product.
The emergence of Huanli mostly reflects the rise of more and more Chinese players in the sophisticated hinge sector. Huawei would be expected to post a double-digit sales hit for both the Z Flip and Z Fold; Analysts say. This change alone has the potential to take Hawanli to the next level, as sales of the Z Flip series account for about 70% of the total foldable phones sold by the Samsung company.
Samsung may have diverse options such as capital efficiency and technological advantages that Hawanli may have. Elec, a reputable tech magazine, explains how Chinese vendors become more involved in Samsung’s foldable phone supply chain as the years go by.
In addition to that hinge part switch, there are rumors that the Z Fold 6 Ultra could be added to the initial generation of the upcoming foldable collection. However, in contrast, the premium model will likely run on a much smaller scale. Of course, avid Samsung fans are now expecting that by the second week of July 2023, these new foldables will be announced during the next Unpacked event that will take place at the event.
