Recently rumors surfaced that Samsung is planning to launch “Galaxy Watch FE“. This new watch will supposedly be an extension of their existing watch, but it will likely take Apple’s watch – which is a big deal.
Presumably, the “FE” there is short for “Fan Edition”, which could mean that it is cheaper than the existing version of the premium Samsung Galaxy Watch. This price gain may be a result of keeping most of the CSmarphone from the previous watch with only a new design or a few improvements to functions.
Samsung appears to have managed to take a well-coordinated direction with Apple in the smartwatch field. Apple makes a series of devices, of which the SE is the cheapest and the Ultra, in turn, has the widest range of features. In the same way, Samsung’s lineup can be enriched through the Traditional Watch 7, Sport Watch 7, Reference Watch 7 and Online Photo Watch 7 which may be released soon. For the time being, Samsung is expected to launch a low-cost model, the Galaxy Watch FE, which could compete with the Apple SE, which is priced at around $199.
This move prevents Samsung from catering to audiences other than a specific type of customer with needs. The FE version for adventurers, which caters to budget-conscious individuals, is still offered with the more advanced D2 for those who prefer to work with higher ranges. With this expansion, Samsung can potentially expand its sphere of influence to a great extent and become a major competitor in the smartwatch market. The Galaxy Watch 7 arriving in July is expected to succeed the launch of the “FE” model, therefore, offering not only possibilities but also a diversity of smartwatches in Samsung’s family.
