All your stores out there use portable digital devices! Samsung has gone a step further to provide long-term security and software updates at all times that maximize durability. For example, they are now officially committed to extending the software life cycle of Enterprise Edition items.
Here are the details:
- With Windows Update within the tablet starting from 2025, with its 8 years of support, you can be 100% confident in long-term security. Between these updates, we see different operating system versions and security bugs. There’s only one tablet available at the moment, the latest version of the Galaxy Tab Active5, though other models will join the line.
- For example, enterprise devices like the Galaxy Xcover7 will be supported for 7 years, this is in line with their recently launched Galaxy S24 series for Galaxy consumers. This is a big step forward, including 8 major OS updates instead of 4 major OS versions, and 5 years of security updates delivered to enterprise devices.
- This long-term support for companies is something like that. These could easily mean that their devices will have fewer security risks as devices remain updated for longer periods, reducing the risks of data breaches and improving performance. Also, operating systems are complemented with new advanced features and associated functions resulting in better performance and productivity at the workplace.
However, extended support related to the Samsung Enterprise Edition device part is limited right now. Like other consumer tablets, no matter how great each model is, they still don’t get more than 4 major version updates and 5 years of security updates. But Samsung’s decision to extend support for enterprise phones to only those that are exclusive to consumer flagships seems like the start of good things to come — perhaps future consumer tablets will get the same privilege of becoming almost immortal, as much as the enterprise one. What may be reliable may be pills, which can last for about 8 years.
