Samsung to fix Clock overlap and enhance Quick Share features

Key Points:

  1. Samsung to resolve the clock overlap issue in One UI with upcoming updates.
  2. Quick Share update doubles the file size limit to 10GB.
  3. Improved device identification and new privacy features in Quick Share.

Samsung has identified an issue with the clock on the lock screen of some Galaxy devices, such as the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S24, and Galaxy Tab S9 FE. The clock sometimes overlaps when using LockStar with an automatic restart routine. This requires a manual restart to fix temporarily.

Samsung has acknowledged the problem and announced plans to release a software update to fix the clock overlap issue. The company advises users to keep their devices updated to benefit from the upcoming fix. While no specific timeline has been given, users are encouraged to disable LockStar and Autostart Routine in the meantime for a better experience.

In addition to addressing the clock issue, Samsung has rolled out a new update for the Quick Share app, version 13.6.51.13. This update, available in the Galaxy Store with a 23.53MB package size, doubles the file size limit from 5GB to 10GB, making it easier to share large files such as videos and documents.

The update also enhances device identification, displaying up to two lines of text for each device’s name, which helps users select the correct device when sharing files with multiple nearby devices. Additionally, the update introduces a feature that shows the total file size of incoming transfers in the pop-up notification, providing users with more information about the files they are receiving.

Samsung also recently added the Privacy Sharing feature to Quick Share for One UI devices. This feature uses blockchain-based encryption to ensure that shared files are secure and only accessible to the intended recipients.

Users can install the Quick Share update by navigating to the Galaxy Store, selecting the menu option, and then choosing updates. The update can also be downloaded directly from a third-party app source. Stay tuned for further updates on Samsung’s software improvements and features.
