Samsung is offering a new Temporary Cloud Storage feature that allows users to store their data free and securely in the cloud for 30 days. This feature is highly beneficial for users who have limited storage space on their devices or who want to keep their data safe and easily accessible.
The service will allow users to upload data from their smartphones or computers to Samsung Cloud storage for later use. Moreover, this feature is not restricted only to Samsung apps and services and will also support third-party apps, to offer users a more seamless experience.
Anyone can use this service, which has no limit other than 100 GB per file. The offer covers all types of data, including audio, video, documents, and even private files within the Secure Folder.
Samsung assures that the uploaded data will be securely stored for up to 30 days from the date of the initial backup. But, if you don’t somehow retrieve your backed-up data within 30 days, all your files will be permanently deleted, and they cannot be recovered.
So, if anyone is planning to use this in place of OneDrive and is thinking of getting cloud storage for free, they should be cautious from the start.
However, it is important to note that the availability of the Samsung Temporary Cloud Storage feature is currently limited to South Korea. As of now, it is unclear when this feature will arrive in the United States. But the element has already reached Gaalxy S23 devices with the latest One UI 6 Beta.
It means we can assume that with a stable One UI 6 release, Samsung may deliver this feature to US and European users as well.
