- Wider Availability Planned: Portrait Studio will soon be available on a broader range of Galaxy devices, allowing more users to experience AI-enhanced portraits.
Samsung is pushing the boundaries of innovation on two fronts: super-fast drone deliveries and AI-powered photo editing.
Taking to the Skies: Samsung Initiates Drone Delivery Service
Samsung is pioneering drone delivery in Korea, starting with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. This service aims to significantly reduce delivery times in key areas like Jeju Island and coastal cities. The company estimates drone delivery can cut wait times from a week to just one day.
This initiative utilizes AI technology, reflecting Samsung’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge advancements for consumer convenience. Initially focused on the latest foldables, Samsung plans to expand drone delivery to other mobile devices like tablets and wearables, as long as weight limitations are met.
Introducing Portrait Studio: AI Reimagines Your Photos
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 boast not just impressive hardware but also innovative software features. One UI 6.1.1 introduces Portrait Studio, a revolutionary tool that utilizes generative AI to transform photos into artistic portraits. With a few taps, users can choose from various styles like comic books, 3D characters, watercolors, and sketches.
Using Portrait Studio is effortless. Simply select a portrait photo, pick your desired style, and let the AI work its magic. The feature even allows you to specify which person in a group photo you want the portrait created for. The AI generates the portrait in about 15 seconds, and if you’re not happy with the result, a simple “Create Again” button lets you try again. Final portraits can be saved or directly set as contact profile pictures.
For optimal results, Samsung recommends using high-resolution photos where the subject is clearly visible and facing forward. It’s important to note that all AI-generated portraits include a watermark in the bottom left corner.
The good news for Galaxy users is that Portrait Studio won’t be exclusive to the latest foldables. Samsung plans to roll out this feature to a wide range of devices, including previous Galaxy Z series phones, Galaxy S series phones, and Galaxy Tab tablets. This wider availability ensures more users can experience the magic of AI-enhanced portraits.
Samsung’s drone delivery service and Portrait Studio showcase the company’s commitment to pushing boundaries and creating innovative experiences for its customers. These advancements demonstrate Samsung’s focus on speed, convenience, and artistic expression, paving the way for an exciting future in mobile technology.
