Samsung may unveil its next-generation foldable smartphone next August. Ahead of the launch, Samsung has reportedly reduced its reliance on Patreon for the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 camera modules.

According to TheElec, industry sources revealed that Partron was excluded from being a supplier of smartphone camera modules for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. The outlet mentions that the foldable device will be released in August 2023.
For the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4, Partron is one of the leading camera module suppliers. Meanwhile, Samsung is ramping up production of camera modules through its electronics and mechatronics companies, thereby reducing reliance on external suppliers.

Meanwhile, MCNEX, Samsung Electro-Mechanics and Cammsys are the main partners providing the front camera for the Galaxy Z Flip 5, while China’s Sunny Optical is a secondary supplier.
Likewise, MCNEX, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Cammsys are the main partners for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 camera module, with Sunny Optical listed as a secondary partner.
