Instead, the Korean tech giant will use lower-grade materials from the previous generation OLED on the lower-end iPhone 14 models. The company, on the other hand, will be using its most advanced OLEDs for the top-end iPhone 14 model.
Furthermore, reports suggest that Samsung Display will reportedly supply OLED panels manufactured using the mysterious M11 and M12 material sets. In contrast, the panel developed using the M11 set has an LTPS backplane and will be available with the iPhone 14 models starting with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes.
On the other hand, Samsung OLEDs based on the M12 material set have an improved LTPO backplane, which will be supplied for Apple’s higher-end iPhone 14 models. The report reveals that Samsung’s upcoming foldable also use the same OLED panel after use.
