Going by the report of TheElec, Samsung Display has set a notebook OLED shipment target of 8.5 million units next year. As Asus is the largest customer of the Samsung Display notebook OLED and holds a significant amount of inventory.
Moving on, the Display department of Samsung is also producing a 17.3-inch foldable notebook OLED with the goal of supplying it to Samsung Electronics. Notably, the target decided for next year is 43% higher than this year’s expected shipment of 5.94 million units.
As per the previous report, Samsung Display’s notebook OLED shipments has increased from 960,000 units in 2020 to 5 million last year, and then grew by 18% to 5.94 million units this year. But now the growth rate is diminishing because of the low demand for notebooks.
Further, the report also considered that the retrieval of Asus’ notebook OLED demand is important for Samsung Display to achieve its target of 8.5 million notebook OLED shipments next year. Because ASUS is the leading consumer of Samsung OLED panels.
