Samsung Secure Folder is an aged One UI feature that keeps your private photos, videos, files, apps, and data safe and secure. The feature continues to provide its services to One UI 4.1 users. Although it hasn’t seen any significant new changes, the feature has been improved, at least in terms of performance.

Moreover, the Samsung One UI 4.1 Secure Folder is protected by the defense-grade Samsung Knox security platform that makes sure that your information is kept safe from any malicious attacks. The service also allows you to add a passcode or biometric lock to keep your data safe from any others eyes.

Samsung Secure Folder users can add an existing app on their phone to their Secure Folder to make a copy of the app. You can also add new apps from Galaxy Store or Play Store only to install them in the Secure Folder itself and only these apps can access your hidden files.

Before you set up your Secure Folder, you first need a Samsung Account.

How to create a secure folder?

  • Enter the Setting of your smartphone.
  • Tap Biometrics and security.
  • Tap Secure Folder.
  • You will need to sign into or create a Samsung Account.
    • Tap Sign in, Continue or Agree.
  • Enter your Samsung Account details, then tap Sign in or OK.
  • Choose the lock method you wish to use, then tap Next.
  • Enter the lock method, then choose Continue.
  • Enter the lock method again, then choose Confirm.
  • A shortcut to the Secure Folder will be added to your Home and Apps screen

How to add files to Secure Folder?

After you have set up your Secure Folder you can move your private files. There are several ways to move files to the Secure Folder.

  • Open your Secure Folder
  • Tap Add files or tap the three dots and tap Add files
  • Choose the type of file that you want to add
  • Select the files you want to add and tap Done
  • Choose whether you want to copy or move the files

You can also move your files directly from where they are saved on your phone. This only works with apps that are made by Samsung, such as My Files, Gallery and Voice Recorder.

  • Open an official Samsung app such as Gallery
  • Select the files that you want to move
  • Tap the options icon. It will appear as three dots in the bottom right corner
  • Tap Move to Secure Folder
