Samsung Display has filed a new complaint against China’s renowned manufacturer BOE in the US International Trade Commission (ITC). The Korean tech firm claims that the Chinese display makers violated trade secret regulations.
As per the information, Samsung (SDI) filed the complaint on October 31, accusing the Chinese rival BOE of violating a Tariff Act in the US importation and sales of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display modules and components in the US.
In January 2023 Samsung filed a motion with the US ITC to halt the import of aftermarket AMOLED displays produced by BOE. A group of OLED makers in China, which includes BOE, answered with a motion of their own, to dismiss an SDC AMOLED patent.
BOE had also filed for patent invalidation proceedings with the US Patent and Trademark Office against the five concerned patents filed by Samsung in June. This bar between Samsung Display and BOE continues.
