The update rollout is, currently, taking place in the Indian and Russian markets with the J700FXXU4BVG2 and J700HXXU3BVG2 build versions respectively. The security patch level of the Samsung Galaxy J7 August 2022 firmware update is as of 2017-08-01, while the changelog mentions “GPS: Stability has been improved”.
If you have a Galaxy J7 in your pocket or drawer, or your kid is using it to watch cartoon videos, you should take it back for a while and install the surprise firmware update. This will improve stability as well as fix various problems that may occur with the GPS functionality of the phone.
