Samsung Gallery Share Album Link, a New Feature

Like other OEMs, Samsung also offers a gallery app with all Galaxy devices built in. This app has many features for photos and videos. Currently, Samsung is rolling out a new update to the Gallery app, which brings a new feature to Shared Albums called Shared Album Links.

Now, a link lets your friends or family members view the photos/videos collected in the album. With One UI 4.1, Samsung brings the Shared Album feature to the Gallery app and the company has now extended this feature.

Samsung Gallery Shared Album Links

With the latest Gallery app update, Samsung is rolling out the Share Album Link feature for Galaxy users. This allows anyone without a Samsung account to view the album with the shared album link.

Earlier also, we could easily share and enjoy our photos and videos with family and friends but a Samsung account was required to use this feature but now we don’t need it.

How to use it?

To use this feature, you have to follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Open the Gallery app on your Galaxy smartphone.
  • Tap on the Menu option at the bottom right corner.
  • Click on the Shared Album feature.
  • If you haven’t created any shared albums yet, create a new shared album by tapping the Plus button in the upper right corner.
  • Choose the Shared Album and click three vertical dots on the top right to display the option.
  • Click on the Share link to the album option and share it wherever you want.

The Album Links option is off by default, so you’ll need to turn it on. After turning this option on, the Album Link button will be added to the top right menu of the shared album. Now, your friends or family members can easily view the album on a web browser.

The link is only valid for 30 days if the album link option is turned on. If the user who created the shared album turns off the album link option, the link will expire immediately.
