Like every year, Samsung could introduce its new foldable smartphones in August this year. Users are expecting major upgrades for their design but unfortunately, it’s not happening. A new report suggests that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphone will feature the same cover screen as the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
According to Samsung tipster IceUniverse (via SmmyFans), the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will bring a 6.2-inch cover screen, exactly the same as its predecessor. The source also claimed that he has confirmed information about most specifications of upcoming foldable devices.

In another Tweet, Ice revealed that the design of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 won’t be changed. Meaning that we will be getting just refined versions of the last year’s Samsung foldable phones in 2023. Other than this, the tipster has not revealed anything about key specs such as the processor and camera.
After the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, consumers asked Samsung to bring a wider panel with the future foldable without increasing the size. The Z Fold 4’s external display has a tall aspect ratio of 23.1:9. That’s much taller than the 19.5:9 aspect ratio of the S23’s 6.1-inch display.
The tipster has just revealed the outer display size of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphone and there is still a possibility that the company may introduce a different aspect ratio. At present, we are months away from the launch as well as there is no graphical evidence regarding the design of Fold 5.
Recent rumors about the Galaxy Z Fold 5 promise a thinner design and a new type of hinge in order to reduce the display crease. Besides, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is also reportedly getting a bigger external display, which has also been one of the highly requested changes.
