Samsung may unveil the Galaxy S23 flagship smartphone lineup sometime in February 2023, which is now rumored to be equipped with a Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max fingerprint sensor, which offers a wider scanning area for biometric authentication.

As per the latest information via tipster Alvin, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone may use Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max fingerprint scanning technology. The tipster only talked about the S23 Ultra, however, as the other two members of the lineup can boast of similar technology.
Compared to 3D Sonic Gen 2, the new Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max sensor has a greater reading area of 4x (20x30mm2). This large fingerprint sensing area could make it easier to unlock the Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone to offer an unparalleled unlocking experience.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra will not be the first smartphone equipped with a 3D Sonic Max fingerprint sensor. In recent times, Vivo X80 Pro and iQOO 9 Pro have debuted the world’s largest ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
It is rumoured that Samsung is going to use Qualcomm's 3D Sonic Max fingerprint scanning technology for the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
