Verizon has started delivering the fresh One UI 5.1 update for Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphones in the United States. The update brings a bundle of new features, improvements, and the February 2023 patch for security enhancements.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S20 series phones with Android 10-based One UI 3 software in 2020. Later they grabbed the Android 11, Android 12, and Android 13 upgrades which made sure that users can enjoy the latest features.
Since the devices are eligible for three years of Android and One UI updates, the Android 13-based One UI 5.1 is the last major update for Galaxy S20. Now the customers will only get access to the security patches for a year.
Anyways, currently, the US carrier Verizon is releasing the One UI 5.1 update for Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra+ smartphones and you can recognize it through the G981VSQU3HWB4, G981VSQU3HWB4, and G981VSQU3HWB4, respectively (Via SammyFans).
New features:
The One UI 5.1 changelog is not as big as the One UI 5.0 but there is still a lot to talk about. It carries a bunch of advanced features, so many meaningful changes, and multiple improvements over the previous software.
The fresh update makes it easier for S20 Ultra customers to access Expert RAW as it adds a shortcut in the stock Camera itself. Additionally, the company adds a new Effects button on the camera screen to let the customers change the color tone of selfies.
For Gallery, the devices are getting a new Common family album that makes picture sharing easier with family or friends. It has more powerful searches to search pictures of a specific person, a convenient information display in landscape mode, improved handling, and more.
Aside from these, the company has brought a new Battery Widget to display your phone and connected devices’ battery information at a glance. The Smart suggestion widget and Weather widget are also improved with useful advancements.
The company has further made multitasking easier, add the English language to Bixby Text Call, support for continuing browsing on other devices on Samsung Internet, and much more.
