Carrier-unlocked users of the Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra are now getting the August 2022 Android security patch update in the US. The update comes with new improvements and optimizations to the phone’s system.
As per the official information, the security and stability of your phone’s system have been improved with the latest update. Various privacy and security-related vulnerabilities and exploits have also been fixed so that you can enjoy the best performance of your device.

Not only that but Samsung’s August 2022 patch also fixes a dangerous dialer bug that allowed local attackers to access ICCID via logs. This includes SVE-2022-0726 (CVE-2022-33724) which damages the native dialer app.
It is worth noting that Samsung recently extended the August patch for the Galaxy S20 series in its hometown. In addition to security and privacy enhancements, that update also brought improvements to 11 stock apps to speed up the phone’s performance and provide a more reliable experience.
Meanwhile, this month’s patch in the United States brings no such app upgrades. Also, the size of the update package which is only 245 MB suggests that no noticeable change will be visible after installing the update.
Nevertheless, since the monthly patch is responsible for the better performance and privacy of your phone, we recommend that you download it.
