The update comes with better system security and fixes for a lot of bugs and exploits. Identified via One UI build version Galaxy Note 20 – N981BXXS3FVC8 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra – N986BXXS3FVC8 respectively.

Samsung is extending the April 2022 Android security patch for the Galaxy Note 20 to smartphone users in the Asian market. It has now been released in Malaysia and will be extended to more users in the coming days or weeks.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra April 2022 update comes with One UI build version N986BXXS3FVC8. Whereas, the Galaxy Note 20 users can identify the update through N981BXXS3FVC8 in Europe.
April 12, 2022: The US
Consumers in the US of the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra unlocking service have started getting Samsung’s latest security patch for April 2022. The update for sport N981U1UES2FVC7 and N986U1UES2FVC7 PDAs improves the security of the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra respectively.

Is there a Galaxy Note 20 or Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in the United States? Simply look for the April 2022 Security Update OTA: go to the Settings menu, scroll down and click on Software Updates, then tap Download and Install.
One UI 4.1
The April 2022 security patch is expected to include vulnerabilities and exploits that have reduced overall system performance with the major One UI 4.1 update. However, Samsung last week released details of its latest security patch for Galaxy devices, which is available HERE.
One UI 4.1 software is based on Google’s Android 12 operating system and brings additional improvements to the system, as well as a host of new features inspired by the Galaxy S22 series. It was recently announced that the company will launch the Android 13-based One UI 5 Beta app in July this year.

Consequently, we can expect the Galaxy Note 20 series to be eligible for One UI 5 Beta sometime in October / November this year. Google is working fast on the Android 13 operating system and is likely to release qualifying pixels in October 2022.
