Verizon is sending the August 2022 Android security patch update to the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra smartphones in the United States. This update provides the most up-to-date protection for your phone and may bring some other minor optimizations as well.

According to Samsung’s August 2022 security patch description, this update fixes various vulnerabilities and exploits to suit the privacy and security of the device. These issues are related to DesktopSystemUI, Bluetooth connectivity, Samsung Dialer, Samsung DeX, Samsung Knox, WiFi service, and more.
Apart from these, increased security is the primary aspect of the latest software update. These improvements will give you a safer and more secure experience. This will protect your files from internal damage and bugs.
Plus, your phone’s system stability has also been optimized to deliver smooth performance and improve the overall performance of your device.
One thing to note is that the August patch for the European unit has already been released. It installed upgrades for about a dozen applications that increased their performance and stability. It could be possible that the update will bring the same for Verizon-locked users.
In addition, Verizon is rolling out the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra August 2022 security updates with One UI build versions N981USQS2FVG6 and N986USQS2FVG6 respectively. You can install it by going to Settings >> Software Update >> Download and Install section.
One UI 5.0 Beta:
Samsung rolled out Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta for Galaxy S22 series users. While the Galaxy S21 series is the next to receive this update, the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are also eligible and will be receiving it soon.
The Galaxy Note 20 series is the last Note lineup in the Samsung family. The device was launched last year with Android 11 OS and is currently running on Android 12-based One UI 4.1. Phones 3 more are eligible for major OS upgrades, next is Android 13.
