Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy A16 5G, which recently appeared in the Geekbench database under the model number SM-A166P. This upcoming smartphone will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 processor, offering an upgrade over the A15 5G’s Dimensity 6100+.
The prototype tested on Geekbench featured 6GB of RAM, but other memory configurations may be available when the device is released. As expected, the Galaxy A16 5G runs on Android 14.
Additionally, previous certifications in the UK suggest that Samsung is also developing a 4G version of the Galaxy A16. This follows the trend set by the Galaxy A15, which was available in both 4G and 5G models. The 4G version of the A16 will likely feature a different chipset, similar to how the A15 4G uses the Helio G99.
While specific details about the A16’s other specs are not yet revealed, we can look at the Galaxy A15 5G for some clues. The A15 5G includes a 6.5-inch 1080×2340 90Hz AMOLED display, storage options of 128GB and 256GB, RAM options of 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB, a 50 MP main camera, a 5 MP ultrawide camera, a 2 MP macro camera, a 13 MP selfie camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging. The A16 will likely build on these features with potential improvements.
