Samsung has now ended software update support for the Galaxy Note 9, a flagship smartphone that was launched in August 2018 with a starting price of $999. With the Note 9, the company introduced meaningful upgrades like 512GB of internal storage, S Pen with Bluetooth feature, and external microSD card support.

At the launch event of the Galaxy Note 20 series, Samsung announced that it will bring an additional year of OS and regular software update support to flagship Galaxy devices running Android 9-based One UI 1. Accordingly, the Galaxy Note 9 did not qualify. For additional software support.
As per the South Korean tech giant’s outdated Android and security update policy that applies to the Galaxy Note 9, it has ended its lifecycle of firmware updates. The device has already been upgraded twice; Android 9 (One UI 2) and Android 10 (One UI 2).
Talking about the security update, Samsung last month released the July 2022 security patch for the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone, which can be said to be its last OTA. Usually, the company distributes one or two additional patches after ending support, but there is no guarantee.
