On August 10, at Galaxy Unpacked event 2022, Samsung unveiled the all-new operating system Android 12L based on One UI 4.1.1 which comes with several great features. Galaxy Z Fold 4 was the first device to receive it, and later Galaxy Tab S8 got access to it.

Recently, Samsung showcased the list of the devices which will be eligible to receive this Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 update. Additionally, the company also revealed the features that will be offered for these selected devices in the coming days.
According to Samsung, this Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 will make multitasking more intuitive and user-friendly than ever before. It will increase the number of screens to run in Split Screen View. Furthermore, users will see a more powerful Pop-overs option.
Taskbar
With Android 12L, the company has made multitasking more improved and customized, users will be able to switch between apps more quickly than ever before. And can customize their taskbar with their favorite apps and switch seamlessly and speedily between active sessions.
If you want to perform multiple tasks at once then the taskbar will also remember the recent apps and displays your two most recently used applications at any given time, which will make your work easier and you can easily pick up where you left off.
Steps to enable:
- Go to Settings
- Tap Advanced Features
- Click on Labs
- Tap on “Swipe for split screen”
- Enable the feature
Split Screen view
Now the Split Screen View can support up to three screens, to perform multiple tasks and the taskbar can be temporarily hidden for a more immersive screen view, notifications can be dragged straight into split screen and all apps can be viewed in a grid-style layout.
Split Screen View can take your multitasking to new heights by displaying up to three apps at once, which users can rearrange and resize according to their preferences. You can also make pair of your two favorite apps that you mostly run together and can save them to jump between them quickly.
Step to enable
- Open App pair (up to three apps at once)
- Tap the three dots on the border between the apps
- Click the star-shaped Favorite symbol
- Add the app pair to taskbar
Pop-Overs
With Android 12L, Users can schedule events and change settings without switching screens. These new Pop-overs will show you a transparent screen, and with this latest update, users can peek through pop-overs by touching and holding the screen around them.
It will make pop-overs temporarily transparent so that users can see the app behind them easily, and they reappear when you lift your finger. Touch-and-hold allows you to see the big picture when making new plans and is compatible with the Clock and Reminder apps.
Steps to enable
- Open your Samsung Calendar/Clock/Reminder app
- Plan a new event in a pop-over
- Touch and hold the screen outside the pop-over to peek through
