Qualcomm finally added the most awaited Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor to its midrange 7 series. The 4nm chipset comes with improved performance and efficiency, to offer optimized and hassle-free performance. Simultaneously, it’s a substantial upgrade over the 7 Gen 1.
The chipset boasts a Qualcomm Kryo CPU with top speeds of 2.63GHz in its Prime core. Its three Performance cores reach speeds of up to 2.4GHz, and its four Efficiency cores get to 1.8GHz.
Qualcomm states that the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 offers a 15% better performance and an over 50% jump for the GPU (Aztec Ruins 1080p) while offering 20% power savings. The chip further brings support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 standards.
Furthermore, the processor is paired with the Snapdragon X63 5G Modem-RF System which ensures up to 5 Gbps download speeds over mmWave and sub-6 GHz bands. It also supports up to 4K resolution displays at 60Hz refresh rate or FHD+ resolution at 168Hz.
It is equipped with a Qualcomm Spectra ISP which can handle up to 200MP main camera modules and record 4K HDR video at 60Hz. With Hexagon NPU, the chip is expected to offer 60% faster AI performance per watt over SD 7 Gen 1.
Overall, this new processor will boost the performance and efficiency of the upcoming devices, and the first devices with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 are expected to launch later this month.
