One UI 7: Separate AOD and lock screen notifications

Key points:

  • One UI 7 will let you customize AOD and lock screen notifications separately.
  • No more linked settings for AOD and lock screen notifications.
  • Samsung acknowledges the issue and promises a fix in One UI 7.

Samsung is about to release One UI 7, a new version of its software for Galaxy phones. One of the cool things about this update is that you can now customize your Always-On Display (AOD) and lock screen notifications separately.

Before One UI 7, if you changed how notifications looked on your lock screen, it would also change how they looked on your AOD. This annoyed a lot of people who wanted to have different settings for each screen.

Samsung has listened to the feedback and is fixing this problem in One UI 7. With the update, you can choose which notifications show up on your AOD without affecting what shows up on your lock screen. This gives you more control over how your phone looks.

If you have a Galaxy phone, you can try out One UI 7 early by joining the beta program. This lets you test new features before they’re officially released.
