The Samsung Speech to Text feature can be extremely helpful at times, especially for people who have speech or vision problems. It can also be helpful for people who forget their thoughts once they try to write. People also use it because it can capture speech much faster than speaking, so it can save time.

Many of you would be aware of this amazing feature while many might not. For those unaware, we have come up with a guide on how to convert speech to text on your Samsung smartphone. So if you don’t use this feature or are new to Samsung One UI, check out the steps below.
Samsung One UI 4.1 Speech to Text
With Speech-to-text mode, you can convert up to 10 minutes of speech to text. When recording in a speech to text it is recommended to keep your phone within 8cm of your mouth and speak clearly.
How to use?
- Head into the Voice Recorder app.
- Tap on the Record icon to start recording.
- When starting a Voice Recording you can choose between 3 different recording modes:
- Standard
- Interview
- Speech-to-text
- Once you have stopped the Voice Recording you can change the file name and then tap on Save.
- To locate your Voice Recordings in the My Files app:
- Launch the My Files app
- Under categories select Audio
- Select Voice Recorder
You can also convert save voice recordings to texts, here’s how:
- To convert a recorded Voice Recording, head into your List.
- Tap on the recording you would like to convert.
- Tap on 3 dots.
- Select Convert Speech to text.
- Agree to Terms and Conditions and tap on Next.
- Tap on Convert.
- Your speech will then be converted to text. Once complete tap on the stop icon and save the file.
