Google preparing Private Space feature to safeguard apps

Google has released the Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2 update for Pixel devices which brings fixes for various bugs and issues to offer a seamless experience. On the other side, Google is also working on a new Private Space feature to safeguard your applications.

According to the information, Google is planning to bring a feature that will hide the application ensuring your privacy stays intact if you ever need to hand your phone to someone else. The Private Space can be found by default as a new icon at the bottom of the app drawer.

However,  users will be able to access Private Space from the bottom of your app list or you can also hide the use of Private Space. This process will hide the private space option from the home screen and you’ll have to search for Private Space to make it appear manually.

Moving on, the users will also be able to able to lock the Private Space using the same password, pattern, or PIN used to unlock their Android device. It’s worth mentioning that, the Private Space making its first appearance in Android 14 QPR2 and we can expect its release with Android 15.

In today’s era hiding some applications is required as a part of maintaining privacy. While, Google’s decision to introduce its personal app hiding feature is a crucial step, to follow the commitment of offering a seamless user experience.
