Google Photos preps to bring reminders functionality with Calendar integration

Google is continuously working to provide users with a better-than-before experience and for this, the firm is preparing a new reminders functionality in the Photos app that integrates with Google Calendar. This new offering will make your tasks much easier and more efficient.

According to the information, the integration with Google Calendar will allow users to set reminders on their photos. For example, you have paid your coaching fees and clicked the photograph or taken a screenshot of the payment receipt and set the reminders for the next month.

Then on that day, this feature will remind you to make the payment again. To be mentioned, Google has been working on this functionality for a while, and it’s now able to be turned on in the most recent v6.61 updates for some users.

The feature shows up in the view for a photo and simply has a chip that says “Set reminder” alongside Google Lens and other contextual shortcuts. The option appears on images that include text and dates, rather than showing up on every image in your library.

Once you tap on the chip, a UI pops up that lets you set a reminder in Google Calendar which includes a link to the sourced image in Google Photos.
