Google and Samsung collabs to make Quick Share a default file-sharing app on Android

Google Samsung Quick Share

Google and Samsung officially joined hands to make the Quick Share a default file-sharing app on Android devices. This integration combines the best of both apps, creating an adequate built-in option for ultimate content sharing across all types of devices in the Android ecosystem.

During the ongoing CES 2024 press conference Google announced a merging of Nearby Share, which was the default file-sharing system for Android and Chrome OS devices. Nearby Share now gets merged with Samsung’s Quick Share file-sharing system to offer its users a more relevant sharing experience.

It means the newer version of Quick Share will be the default file-sharing system on all Android and Chrome OS devices. Current Nearby Share-enabled devices will start seeing the new branding next month. However,  the user experience will be the same and transfers should continue to work as previously.

To be mentioned, the new version of Quick Share has the best elements of both Nearby Share and Quick Share. This helps users to share documents, files, images, links, text, videos, and more quickly and efficiently between Android and Chrome OS devices.
