As we all know, nowadays every smartphone equips a non-removable battery which helps the device to look slimmer and feel light weighted to users. But the user-replaceable batteries have another fan base and it’s quite beneficial.
We can’t forget the days when our phone’s battery was getting low, or it got damaged and we were having the option to replace them with a fresh and full battery by just removing the back cover and digging out the battery, and change it.
It seems like we could get this option again because with the help of this removable batteries negotiation EU wants to make batteries more sustainable and reusable. Also, this execution will work over the entire battery life cycle, from design to end-of-life.
This new law and regulation will present a new set of challenges to manufacturers, as the new laws cover the entire life cycle of a battery which includes the material extraction, industrial production, and disposal of the battery.
The new EU law will be applicable to all types of batteries sold in the EU, which includes batteries used in electronic devices, industrial batteries, automotive batteries, and batteries used in two-wheelers and electric vehicles (EVs).
