Samsung is likely to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphone at the August Unpacked. Ahead of this, concept creator HoiINDI shared the first concept renders of the upcoming Samsung foldable smartphone, which shows a new design for the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Ditching the U-shaped hinge design, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to feature a new waterdrop hinge to lessen the crease visibility and the gap appears at the center part when folded. The newly evolved hinge also helps the device to reduce the overall thickness and provide better handling.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 concept:
The most highlighting part of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is its new waterdrop hinge, which makes it way too thin. Samsung’s indirectly following in the footsteps of China-based foldable smartphone vendors such as Oppo, Xiaomi, and Honor.
The new waterdrop hinge nearly ends the biggest problem of the gap at the center area in the folded state. Not that all, but it also radically lessens wrinkles (commonly known as creases). And overall, the phone is going to be a masterpiece from Samsung this year.
The concept render shows that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 also uses Samsung’s under-display camera technology, which first debuted with the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The company greatly reduced the visibility of the UDC area in Fold 4, which looks almost invisible in the upcoming foldable.
When unfolded, the cover display area continues to bring the Infinity-O display to embed the selfie camera. As you can see in the concept, the device has way too less bezels than its predecessor, and the additionally expanded area of the hinge is decreased as well.
Talking about the rear side, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 features a triple rear camera setup, ditching the camera bump of the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Samsung could make this change to maintain its signature design strategy, however, the design might also be changed before the official launch.
Besides three camera sensors, the device has an LED flash so you can take stunning shots even in an insanely dark situation. On the right side, you will get the power button and volume rockers, while the left part is naturally reserved for the hinge.
Recently, it was reported that the Fold 5 prototype with a waterdrop hinge will enter a rigorous testing phase, and if it passes, Samsung will proceed with the production of elements. Samsung could launch the Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphone in August 2023, however, an official announcement is yet to done.
