August 2024 security update for Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Z Fold 2 in the USA

Samsung has rolled out the August 2024 security update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the USA. This update addresses around 50 security vulnerabilities found in earlier versions of the software.

For the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, the update carries the firmware version F707U1UES9IXH1 and is accessible on Sprint’s network. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is receiving its update with firmware version F916U1UES7KXH1, available on both AT&T and Sprint networks.

If you own an unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 5G or Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the US, you can check for the update by going to Settings » Software update and selecting Download and Install. Alternatively, you can manually download the firmware from our database and install it using the Odil tool.

Both phones originally launched with Android 10 in mid-2020. They received updates to Android 11, 12, 13, and 14 in subsequent years. However, they will not receive the upcoming Android 15 update later this year.
